Reader’s Digest moves editorial employees to White Plains office
Trusted Media Brands, Inc, formerly known as Reader’s Digest Association and based in Chappaqua, will shift its editorial employees from Manhattan to its office in White Plains, a move that will bring about 40 new employees to the location.
The employees will shift from an office on 750 Third Avenue in New York City to the 44 S. Broadway location in White Plains. The shift will increase the overall staffing levels at the office to 200, according to Trusted Media Brands spokeswoman Pauli Cohen.
Editorial employees create content for both the Reader’s Digest monthly print magazine and website, rd.com.
Cohen said the move is part of an effort to create a “stronger, more integrated” editorial staff across Reader’s Digest properties.
“To do this, the Reader”™s Digest editorial team is relocating to White Plains to bring all U.S. Reader’s Digest editorial teams back to the same location, as they had previously been for decades,” she said.
The magazine has 3 million subscribers and its website reaches 47 million unique users per month. Trusted Media Brands operates 11 print and digital operations total, including Taste of Home, Country Woman and Farm and Ranch Living.
Reader’s Digest Association rebranded to Trusted Media Brands in September 2015. The company was based in Chappaqua from 1939 to 2009, when it declared bankruptcy and moved its headquarters to Manhattan.
The campus that held its former offices on Bedford Road is in the process of being converted to a mixed-use development called Chappaqua Crossing by Connecticut developer Summit Development LLC. A groundbreaking ceremony was held earlier this month for the 120,000-square-foot, $50-million retail portion of the development
