Digital news site gets new Westchester headquarters
The fast-growing web-based community news service Main Street Connect opened its Westchester headquarters at 200 Business Park Drive in Armonk earlier this month.
The company”™s founder and editor Carll Tucker and his wife, Jane Bryant Quinn, editorial director, were joined Oct. 19 by U.S. Rep. Nita Lowey, D-18th District, Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino and a number of local business leaders and government officials to celebrate the opening of the 2,300-square-foot headquarters.
Tucker, the former editor and publisher of the now defunct Trader Publications in Cross River, founded Main Street Connect in December 2009 and launched its first news service ”“ TheDailyNorwalk.com ”“ in March 2010.
Main Street Connect has since grown to include online news publications in 52 communities in New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts, including 32 in Westchester.
With a coverage area that includes some 20 percent of Westchester”™s residents, Tucker said the company plans to continue its expansion.
“That is an extraordinary achievement and we intend to build on that success in the months ahead,” he said in a statement. “Clearly, there is a strong and growing demand for the kind of local news coverage that we”™re providing.”
