County WBA names new president

The Westchester Women’s Bar Association appointed Lisa M. Bluestein as its 21st president and named a new panel of executive officers at the group’s annual dinner held at the Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club on June 12.

“I am honored to be leading an organization with a rich history of promoting justice for all, advancing the social, economic and legal status of women in society, as well as fostering and expanding the status of women attorneys in the legal profession,” Bluestein said at the event.

Bluestein, a founding member of the Law Offices of Lisa M. Bluestein, L.L.C. in White Plains, has a strong backbone in commercial litigation, construction law and corporate law. She practiced law in New York and Connecticut, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. district courts of the southern and eastern districts of New York. She graduated from Cornell University and Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.

Bluestein gained experience serving as the chairperson of the association’s Press and Public Relations Committee. She has also moderated and lectured at programs and classes on construction law, corporate law, collection law and practice-management issues. She volunteers for the Attorney-Client Dispute Resolution Program for the Ninth Judicial District and is active in the New York City and New York state bar associations.

Also appointed at the annual dinner were executive officers  Robin D. Carton (vice president), Lucia Chiocchio (vice president), Ann M. McNulty (vice president), Joelle M. Burton (treasurer), Lisa Denig (recording secretary) and Jennifer L. Gray (corresponding secretary).

The Westchester Women’s Bar Association, one of the largest chapters in the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York, has more than 650 members.
