The Center for Family Justice in Bridgeport will host its 12th annual Walk A Mile In Her Shoes in honor of Sexual Violence Awareness Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month on Saturday, April 27.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m., with the walk starting at 9 a.m. at the Fairfield Train Station and ending at Town Hall. It is a 1-mile walk. There will be some speakers and a short presentation of awards.

Since 2012, CFJ has held Walk a Mile during April to help raise awareness about the need to end sexual assault in the six communities (Bridgeport/Trumbull/Stratford/Easton/Monroe/Fairfield) it serves.  The walk also raises funds for CFJ’s Camp HOPE America-Bridgeport, a mentoring program for kids ages 7 to 17 affected by the trauma of abuse. CFJ’s White Ribbon Committee, a group of men committed to ending domestic and sexual violence, organizes Walk A Mile.
