Stamford Health receives $5M to modernize Women’s Specialty Center
STAMFORD – Susan Falk Rapoport has donated $5 million to Stamford Health to modernize its Women’s Specialty Center. Rapoport’s donation will help augment services and drive innovation at the center, which delivers specialty care for women.
The donation marks the next chapter in Stamford Health’s multi-year fundraising campaign for women and babies. To date, the campaign has significantly contributed to the debut of the new Hackett Family Maternity Unit, the opening of the Cohen Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the modernization of the Whittingham Pavilion.
“Susan Falk Rapoport’s generous donation will ensure that Stamford Health can continue to provide world-class, multidisciplinary care at our Women’s Specialty Center for years to come,” said Kathleen Silard, president and CEO. “We are so grateful to all of our donors who have contributed to the women and babies fundraising campaign.”
Medical conditions that primarily affect women are complex and multifaceted, and the Women’s Specialty Center provides coordinated care where physicians, nurses, and medical experts can work together to best treat patients at every stage of their health journey. With Rapaport’s donation, Stamford Health will modernize multiple elements of the Center including adding more rooms for existing and new programs and building private waiting areas for patients.
This effort will ensure that care is delivered in a state-of-the-art, safe and efficient space, providing ultimate comfort for patients.
Stamford Health’s team of distinguished specialists at the Women’s Specialty Center address a range of issues such as endometriosis, pelvic floor wellness, incontinence, fibroids, genetic screening, pediatric and adolescent gynecology, reproductive genetics, high-risk pregnancy and GYN oncology.
Stamford Health is a non-profit independent health care system with more than 3,900 employees committed to caring for the community through a wide range of high-quality health and wellness services.
