NorthEast Electric Vehicle Symposium coming to New Haven

The new BMW EV lineup, to be on display at NEEVS.

Hotel Marcel, the striking brutalist structure next door to the New Haven Ikea along I-95, will be hosting the 2024 NorthEast Electric Vehicle Symposium (NEEVS) on Sunday, September 15.

The event at the 100 percent electric Hotel Marcel is primarily sponsored by BMW, with contributions from other major sponsors.

Attendees will be able to take free test drives of cutting edge electric vehicles such as the BMW i4, BMW i5, BMW iX, Rivian R1T, Rivian R1S, Alfa Romeo Tonale and Tesla Cybertruck.

Subject matter experts will discuss the latest developments in electric vehicle technology and adoption, and guests can visit displays of  electric versions of a delivery van, garbage truck, police patrol car, and a Flux Marine electric boat.

“We welcome everyone who would like to learn more about EVs. This is a non-pressured way to take a test drive and learn about EV ownership from other EV owners and experts.” said Barry Kresch, President, Electric Vehicle Club of Connecticut.

A forum featuring government officials and experts is planned for Monday, September 16.

“On Monday EV advocates and policy makers will share their visions for accelerating the transition to sustainable transportation,” explains Bruce Becker, Chairman, Electric Vehicle Club of Connecticut. “NEEVS is a fantastic opportunity to become immersed in the world of electric vehicles and network with industry experts.”
