New York among the best places to live

High test scores and a miniscule household-to-debt income ratio make New York state a residential hotspot.

New research has revealed New York as one of the U.S.’ top living hotspots.

Experts at visiolending.com gathered data from various sources, including the U.S.  Census Bureau and the Bureau of Economic Analysis, to gauge factors such as household debt-to-income ratio, property crime rate and unemployment rate. Each factor was awarded a score of 10 to determine the final ranking. New York finished in sixth place – after California, Wyoming, Maryland, South Dakota and Nebraska – with a score of 58.09. The average ACT test score in New York is an impressive 1,067, contributing to a rating of 8.33. Also, the household-to-debt income ratio is 0.4, giving the state the highest possible score of 10 in that category.

Minnesota, North Dakota, Utah and New Jersey round out the top 10.

A spokesperson from visiolending.com said: “It’s fascinating to see that the states in the ranking are from various regions of the country, and the insights allow us to see what each one has to offer, from safe communities in California to top-quality education in South Dakota.

“The range of factors analyzed in the study, including house prices, tuition fees and unemployment rate, are all critical factors when it comes to quality of life, so it’s useful for citizens of America to see whether their home state has landed in the top 10, or if they would perhaps be beneficial for them to relocate.”
