Tourism and travel generate $2 billion annually in Westchester County, and a big part of that is its cultural and historical sites, like Tarrytown’s Lyndhurst, the Gothic Revival manse beloved by filmmakers, interior design buffs and gardening enthusiasts alike.

Drawing them in Saturday and Sunday April 20 and 21, like bees to botanicals, will be the annual flower show. “Lyndhurst in Bloom” riffs and expands on the yearly tradition. Twenty floral artists will have extensive designs on display throughout the mansion and, for the first time, the grounds. Sculptor Nick Cave will also have a work from his recent Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum exhibit on view, with a complementary floral installation by Cape Lily. Weekend activities include floral superstars Frances Palmer and Lindsey Taylor, discussing their latest books, and demonstrations on sustainable floristry and floral design with TJ McGrath and Trish O’Sullivan in which visitors can enter to win the final arrangements.

The Spring Market will feature a curated collection of more than 30 vendors offering plants, flowers and gardening-related items. Visitors can learn about Lyndhurst’s rock garden and historic trees with free walking tours, then grab a bite to eat at a pop-up café by Geordanes of Irvington.

“ ‘Lyndhurst in Bloom’ is a unique way to experience Lyndhurst, allowing visitors to see beautiful floral art, walk through the mansion, tour the grounds, and participate in some wonderful activities,” said Howard Zar, the site’s executive director. “Whether this is your first time at Lyndhurst or you’re one of our neighbors, there is something for everyone. We look forward to welcoming you.”

Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 20, with the market and café closing at 5 p.m.; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, with the last entry at 4 p.m. Tickets are $30; $28 for senior citizens, AAA members, military and students; free for children ages 5 and under. Tickets include admission to the Welcome Center tent where the local Spring Market is located, “Walk and Talk” landscape tours and entry to the mansion. Lectures and demonstrations are separately priced. (“Walk and Talk” landscape tours require registration.)
