Hudson Valley, Fairfield County hospitals get ‘A’ grades
A national nonprofit healthcare organization has given “A” safety grades to five Nuvance Health hospitals, including four in the Hudson Valley and Fairfield County.
The Leapfrog Group gave out the top grades to Northern Dutchess Hospital and Putnam Hospital in the Hudson Valley and Danbury Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut. This top-tier rating reflects each hospital’s dedication to preventing medical errors, implementing strong infection controls and fostering a culture that prioritizes patient well-being above all.
Updated biannually, this grade reflects over 30 safety performance measures, from hospital system efficacy to infection prevention and harm reduction strategies.
“This achievement is a testament to the hard work, expertise and compassion of everyone involved in patient care,” said Dr. Diane Kantaros, chief quality officer at Nuvance Health. “I am incredibly proud of our healthcare professionals, who go above and beyond every day to make quality care and patient safety their highest priorities. Their dedication and tireless efforts are what make recognitions like these possible, reaffirming our commitment to serving our community with the best possible care.”
Nuvance Health’s hospitals were honored for its rigorous staff training, its adoption of the latest evidence-based practices, and its attention to patient safety.
Nuvance Health hospitals consistently achieve quality recognition from reputable organizations that set healthcare standards, such as the American Heart Association for heart attack and stroke care and U.S. News & World Report for specialty services.
