CONNECTICUT INVENTIONS AND INNOVATIONS opened May 16 in the ground-floor center gallery in Bridgeport. The exhibit will run through Nov.1 and will focus on transportation, aeronautics and entertainment.

KATHY GIUSTI, of New Canaan, founder and CEO of Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, was recently presented with an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from The University of Vermont (UVM), which presented five individuals with honorary degrees at the university commencement. Giusti holds a degree in biology from UVM and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

DANNEL P. MALLOY, governor and Daniel C. Esty, commissioner of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection recently joined state legislative leaders and energy stakeholders at the State Capitol to celebrate the Power of Change Award. The award recognized 10 state municipalities for innovative approaches and initiatives to save energy in buildings.

STRATFORD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, an affiliate of the Bridgeport Regional Business Council, and Stratford Mayor John Harkins recently held a ribbon cutting welcoming El”™s Kitchen, which recently moved all its operations to 300 Benton St., Stratford.  The company has a line of nationally distributed gluten-free snacks.

TRUMBULL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE recently announced that it is accepting nominations for the Sixth Annual Trumbull Business in Bloom Awards. The awards program, in partnership with the Trumbull Economic Development Commission, recognizes and honors deserving businesses that have demonstrated their commitment to Trumbull in a variety of ways.
