Tyra Banks TZONE Foundation”™s executive director translated her work with women into a newly launched individual and business coaching service, Think to Lead L.L.C.
Orangeburg resident Marian Gryzlo”™s practice originated from Gryzlo Consulting L.L.C., a management consulting firm where she developed programs and services for clients.
“I decided what I wanted to do was to take everything I was focusing on and to actually expand it to include a coaching component,” Gryzlo said. “Coaching is much more about the long-term relationship with the client ”¦ it is about empowering another person to evolve with their leadership.”
The company was born out of Gryzlo”™s observation that nothing is certain, the economy a timely example. “By being a step ahead in terms of your career or in any situation where you may not have external control, to realize you always have the internal control to respond to a situation; it is so important,” Gryzlo said.
As for employee morale at a time when the unemployment rate is a staggering 7.6 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Gryzlo said preparing oneself for inevitable change is a must.
“By being mentally and physically prepared for all of these changes, it can help you navigate the economic downturn in a much more productive way,” she said. “Many people are in transition ”¦ many corporations have internal coaches, but often a coach may be called in to help achieve a goal or to help with career exploration.”
Gryzlo”™s partial client list from her consulting practice consists of: MasterCard Worldwide, Fujifilm USA, The Thompson Corp., Palisades Federal Credit Union, Rockland Community College and United Way of Westchester/Putnam, much of her work behind the scenes developing strategies.
In the meantime, Gryzlo maintains her community and national presence, participating in women”™s leadership seminars and speaking at events. She was on the Super Moms panel at the American Heart Association”™s Go Red for Women luncheon Feb. 13 at the Hilton Rye Town.
Gryzlo was honored for her work and received a life achievement award on behalf of her work with TZONE at a Super Bowl weekend awards ceremony in Tampa, presented by Off The Field, an NFL player”™s wives foundation.
“I was one of several being honored and it was a great opportunity to meet some fabulous, amazing women doing great work, be it business, media or through educational ventures.”
And her goal for Think to Lead? “I aspire to help people realize ”“ at any moment, you can decide to change your life ”“ be it your lifestyle, career, or how you”™re spending your time,” Gryzlo said.
“What you have left if you lose your ”˜corner office”™ is you, yourself and what you”™ve chosen in life ”“ your integrity and values.”
