Rockland Business Association honors county businesses

The Rockland Business Association (RBA) honored county businesses that have reached the “pinnacle” at an awards dinner at the Park Ridge Marriott in Park Ridge, N.J., on April 18 with 200 members and supporters attending.

This is the fourth year the business association has conducted the event that recognizes outstanding contributors in the Rockland County community. Awards were presented to Alan Elkin, chief executive of Active International in Pearl River, for corporate citizenship; Ann Byne, president and founder of The Byne Group in Montebello for women”™s outstanding achievement; and Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Hudson Valley in Tarrytown for outstanding achievement by a nonprofit organization

Others included Wyeth in Pearl River, which was presented with the Manufacturer”™s Award for Business Excellence; Barry Dorfman of Liberty Mutual, New City, the President”™s Award for Service to the RBA; and United Water New York in West Nyack, the Chairman”™s Award for Overall Excellence.

“We were very pleased to acknowledge these outstanding members of our community that have made a difference through successful leadership and innovation,” said Al Samuels, RBA president.
