Elant CEO named Athena honoree - Westfair Communications

Donna McAleer, president and CEO of Goshen-based Elant Inc., was chosen Athena Award honoree of 2009 as the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce Foundation Luncheon Dec. 6. She will represent the Hudson Valley in Chicago at the 2010 Athena International Awards Summit April 5. Nearly 200 supporters attended the event held at The Grandview in Poughkeepsie on Sunday, December 6.

Elant maintains campuses in Orange, Dutchess, Westchester and Rockland counties offering adult care and rehabilitative services.

Also recognized for their outstanding contribution to the community were Elaine Charwat, community volunteer; Teri Egitto, Hudson Valley Center at St. Francis; Clara Lou Gould, former mayor of the city of Beacon; Sandra Ludlum, Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union; Alexandra Laubacker, Integrated Enterprise Solutions; Lisa Morris, The Chazen Companies; Janet Ready, chief operating officer, Vassar Brothers Medical Center; Andrea Reynolds, Community Foundation of Dutchess County; and attorney Lillian Weigert of the firm Gellert & Klein.

The keynote speaker was Muriel Siebert, “The First Woman of Finance.” She is the founder and president of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) brokerage firm that bears her name and one of the first women to break Wall Street”™s “glass ceiling.”
