Dialed in for business news

The region”™s preeminent source of local business news for nearly 50 years is expanding its reach.

Starting next week, headlines from the week”™s top business stories from Westfair Business Publications will be heard each day on 100.7 WHUD, “Westchester and the Hudson Valley”™s Music and Information Station.”

“We”™re delighted to be working with the creative and talented people of WHUD,” said Dee DelBello, publisher of the Westchester County Business Journal, Fairfield County Business Journal and HV Biz.

“Together we shall bring to our varied audiences the fascinating and informative business news that characterizes our dynamic region,” DelBello said. “It”™s a multimedia approach, which is so important for today”™s way of life and business.”

Jason Finkelberg, general manager with Pamal Broadcasting, which owns WHUD, said the timing was right for a partnership.

“In discussions with my programming staff, listeners and clients, it became clear to me that there was a demand for timely information about local business,” Finkelberg said. “I explored building a business news department and quickly realized that to report on the economy of this region with the depth and accuracy that our listeners demand was going to be a massive undertaking. When I thought about how to build this service, I immediately thought of Westfair.”

Six weeks after an initial meeting, the radio feature ”“ called the WHUD/HV Biz Business Minute ”“ was finalized.
DelBello said the partnership will also include linking in to each other”™s websites and developing “special business events that will spotlight and highlight the growing number of entrepreneurs and successful businesses we cover.  So keep tuned and read and be part of our exciting new partnership.”

WHUD plays adult contemporary music and has a weekly audience of more than 500,000 people in Westchester and the Hudson Valley with live news, weather and traffic.
