Corbett heads nursing staff at NYP/Hudson Valley Hospital
Bonnie Corbett has joined NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor as chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services, officials at the community hospital in Cortlandt Manor recently announced.
The Scarsdale resident most recently served as nursing director of the pediatric emergency department at NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children”™s Hospital in New York City. In her nine years there Corbett also headed a team of nurses and staff as director of nursing for diagnostic and interventional radiology in pediatrics and director of nursing for the hospital”™s pediatric oncology and infusion centers.
Before joining NewYork-Presbyterian, Corbett was administrative nurse manager of the emergency department at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx.
Corbett in the announcement said she was drawn to the NYP/Hudson Valley Hospital in part by “the very palpable commitment here to nursing excellence and quality patient care.” It was the first hospital in the region to earn the Magnet Award for Nursing Excellence and the only hospital to be designated twice for the award.
John C. Federspiel, president of NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital, said the hospital”™s new chief nursing officer “is well-known to inspire colleagues and staff with her excellence and commitment.”
Corbett earned her bachelor’s degree in registered nursing and a master”™s degree as a family nurse practitioner at Pace University. She is pursuing a doctoral degree in nursing practice at Case Western University in Cleveland.
