Fire in Stamford hotel garage may have created structural damage

A fire in the parking garage of Stamford”™s Armon Hotel wrecked more than a dozen automobiles and may have resulted in structural damage to the facility.

The fire broke out on Thursday morning, resulting in the temporary evacuation of the hotel. Eight cars were destroyed and another eight were damaged, and city officials expressed concern that the intensity of the fire may have impacted the structural integrity of the garage, which did not have a sprinkler system.
