White Plains Hospital cited as beautiful

White Plains Hospital has poured millions of dollars into expansion and renovations in recent years, and now the work has been recognized in a survey of the most beautiful hospitals in the country.

Soliant Health, an Atlanta-based health care staffing company, ranked White Plains as the eighth-most beautiful hospital in its annual survey.

The hospital received 9,481 votes from nearly 200,000 cast for 70 hospitals. Doctors Memorial Hospital in Bonifay, Fla., ranked first with 38,978 votes.

The closest other hospital cited in the survey is Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, N.J., ranked fifth with 11,209 votes.

White Plains Hospital opened a $60 million Center for Cancer Care in February. It has also put in six new labor and delivery suites, five new operating rooms, 24 private patient rooms and a new entrance and lobby.

The 292-bed hospital is a member of Montefiore Health System.
