Rhinebeck health care facility closing, with loss of 102 jobs

The Northern Dutchess Residential Health Care Facility, a Rhinebeck-based Nuvance Health division also known as the Thompson House, has filed a WARN notice with the New York State Department of Labor”™s Office of Dislocated Workers Program to announce it will be closing on May 15.

According to a report in The Hudson Post, the closing will result in the loss of 102 jobs. The reasons for the closing were defined as “economic” and “plant closing.”

The facility opened in 1994 and promoted itself as offering “adult care, assisted living and nursing home facilities and health care services.” The Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce promoted it as a “comfortable nursing home located on the bucolic grounds of Northern Dutchess Hospital.”
