Northern Dutchess Hospital receives top award

Northern Dutchess Hospital was recently named 2013 Hospital of the Year by The Sight Society of Northeastern New York, Inc.

The award recognizes North Dutchess Hospital”™s accomplishment in facilitating cornea donations. The Lions Eye Bank at Albany honored the requests of nine families through the donations that restored the sight of 12 people with corneal blindness.

“We are extremely humbled by this award and proud to help give someone the gift of sight,” Tim Clearly, Interim President at Northern Dutchess Hospital, said.

The Lions Bank at Albany serves 43 hospitals in 28 counties in upstate New York and Massachusetts.
