Nonprofit pharmacy opens in Phoenicia
Ulster County”™s newest health-focused retailer is a nonprofit pharmacy.
Wellness Rx’s Pharmacy for the Public Good at 53 Main St. in Phoenicia had its ribbon-cutting ceremony last week. According to its website, the pharmacy defines its mission as being a “new medical model for the betterment of the profession of pharmacy. We want to see independent rural community pharmacies thrive and survive, and this model leads to sustainability and permanence.”
This is the second nonprofit pharmacy owned by Ed Ullmann, a former CEO at Wellcare who opened a Greene County location in Tannersville in 2016 and is planning a third location in New Lebanon in Columbia County.
