Costco offers discounts on outpatient medical care through Sesame network
Costco (NASDAQ:COST) has begun offering its members special discount prices to outpatient medical care from the New York City-based health care network Sesame.
Sesame connecting thousands of outpatient health care providers covering in all 50 states with consumers seeking high quality, convenient medical care at half the price of what is typical. By partnering with Sesame, Costco is providing its members access to Sesame marketplace of low-price health care services, virtually or in-person with a provider, at an exclusive discount.
Under this partnership, Costco members using the Sesame network can pay $29 for a virtual primary care visit and $72 for health check-ups (a standard lab panel, plus a virtual follow-up consultation with a provider). A virtual mental health therapy is just $79, and members receive 10% off all other Sesame services, including in-person appointments. As a trade-off for the lower prices, Sesame does not accept health insurance.
“Quality, great value, and low price are what the Costco brand is known for,” said David Goldhill, Sesame’s co-founder and CEO. “When it comes to health care, Sesame also delivers high quality and great value – and a low price that will be appreciated by Costco Members when it comes to their own care.”
