Five to be inducted into business Hall of Fame

The Business Council of Westchester announced Thursday five winners to be inducted into its 2014 Business Hall of Fame. The honorees will be recognized at an awards dinner April 23 at the Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle.

The categories for award nominations were corporate citizenship, entrepreneurial success, small business success, women in business success and family-owned business.

Corporate Citizenship: Dr. Laura L. Forese, group senior vice president and chief operating officer for White Plains-based New York-Presbyterian Hospital Westchester Division/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Entrepreneurial Success: Tom Kallish, founder of Tommie Copper, an apparel business in Mount Kisco that uses proprietary copper-infused yarn and fabric technology to create what”™s called “Energywear.”

Small Business Success: Ron Cohen, CEO of Acorda Therapeutics Inc. in Ardsley.

Women in Business Success: Dani Glaser, founder and CEO of Green Team Spirit in Croton-on-Hudson.

Family-owned Business: Liberty Lines Transit Inc. managing partners Bruce Bernacchia, Gerard Bernacchia and Joe Murphy. The Valhalla-based company operates most of Westchester County”™s Bee Line Bus system.
