New Rochelle brings back longtime counsel Kathleen Gill
The city of New Rochelle has hired a familiar face with the appointment of Kathleen Gill as corporation counsel and chief of staff for policy and government affairs.
She will succeed the previous counsel on corporate matters, Mark Blanchard, who is going into private practice.
For nearly 20 years, from 1995 to 2013, Gill worked as counsel for the city in corporation affairs and for the planning and zoning boards. In 2013, Gill left the city and was hired by Iona College as general counsel and secretary to the board of trustees.
“We are privileged to welcome back Kathleen Gill to our city staff,” said Charles B. Strome III, city manager, in a statement. “Her depth of knowledge and experience will prove invaluable during this important stage in New Rochelle”™s development.”
Gill earned bachelor”™s and master”™s degrees from Skidmore College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, respectively, and then attended Pace University School of Law, where she earned her J.D.
Gill will start in her new position Sept. 28.
