Introducing a new, New York
With Gov. Andrew Cuomo as sheriff, the state”™s legislative leaders want businesses to know that “the new New York” works for them.
Cuomo, Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos yesterday announced a new campaign, “The New New York Works for Business,” to be featured as part of the state”™s $50 million New York Open for Business marketing effort announced last year.
Two 60-second ads and four 30-second ads highlighting the state”™s economic opportunities will debut in all New York state markets and on national networks. The ads were filmed beginning in April and were designed by BBDO New York, a subsidiary of marketing and advertising giant Omnicom Group Inc., in concert with Empire State Development Corp.
“By sending the message that New York is the place for businesses to come and thrive, we can deliver on our number one priority: creating jobs, jobs, jobs,” Cuomo said in a June 21 statement.
The ads will feature stories of businesses that have successfully set up shop in New York state, including FAGE USA Dairy Industry Inc., which manufactures Greek yogurt, Smith Electric Vehicles Corp., which manufactures all-electric commercial vehicles, the Global 450 Consortium, a group of five nanotechnology developers that includes IBM Corp. and Intel Corp., and BAE Systems, a global manufacturer and defense contractor.
As part of the campaign, the state also launched a new website, www.theNewNY.com, which will provide quick access to information for all areas of business assistance available from state agencies.
