Hochul, Lamont and Murphy named to Biden’s 2024 National Advisory Board

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamon and Connecticut”™s U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy were among the 50 Democratic politicians named to the National Advisory Board for President Biden”™s 2024 re-election campaign.

The board will be tasked with the role of campaign surrogates for Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. According to the campaign, the board members will “participate in regular media interviews, assist with fundraising efforts and events, leverage their networks and platforms to amplify the campaign”™s message to voters, and engage directly with voters through grassroots efforts and events in key battleground states.”

The appointment of 50 surrogates comes amid growing criticism of Biden”™s increasing elusiveness from the media and an endless skein of gaffes that the 80-year-old president makes when he is not in tightly scripted and controlled circumstances. It also shows a tightness within the Democratic Party for Biden”™s re-election, as three of his rivals from the 2020 Democratic primaries ”“ Sens. Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker and Amy Klobuchar ”“ are part of the board.
