HGAR appoints government affairs director

The Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors has appointed Philip Weiden as its new government affairs director.  Weiden, a Brooklyn resident, joins the four-county Realtors group in White Plains from the Long Island Board of Realtors, where he served seven years as legislative liaison to Nassau, Suffolk and Queens counties.

HGAR officials in announcing his hiring said Weiden will help to develop HGAR”™s policies and objectives involving local, state and federal government affairs, as well as analyze proposed legislative actions and their potential impact on the association. He also will monitor legislative and regulatory activities, recommending positions to be taken by HGAR and coordinating initiatives for the Realtors”™ Political Action Committee.

The Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors is a nonprofit trade group covering more than 9,500 real estate professionals who do business in Westchester, Putnam, Rockland and Orange counties. It is the second-largest Realtor association in New York and one of the largest in the country.
