FEMA June flood aid deadline Oct. 15
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved $4.5 million in federal disaster assistance for several New York counties, including Sullivan, and Ulster, which sustained damage from June 19 storms and flooding.
Â
A U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) declaration has also enabled homeowners, businesses and nonprofit organizations in Delaware County and the contiguous counties of Broome, Chenango, Greene, Otsego, Schoharie, Sullivan and Ulster to apply for low-interest loans for physical and/or economic damage from the storm.
Â
According to FEMA, the funds are being used to help rebuild public infrastructure in Delaware, Sullivan and Ulster counties, and the amount will continue to increase as additional project funding is approved. Additionally, the SBA has stated the application deadline for physical damage loans is Oct. 15, and the deadline for economic-injury loans is May 14. Information or applications may be obtained by calling the SBA at (800) 659-2955.
