Vela Seaport, a new fine dining destination, opens at Boston’s Seaport

Vela Seaport has become the newest fine dining destination in Boston’s Seaport District.

Named for the constellation in the shape of a ship’s sail and located at the ground-floor of Yotel Boston, the new restaurant offers a menu from Executive Chef Guara Pimenta that is being promoted as “presenting new bold seafood-forward dishes that feature seasonings collected from around the world” ”“ with distinctive offerings including “simple plates like a donut topped with smoked salmon and caviar.”

Appetizers range from Yellowtail Crudo to Harvest Pizza to Corn & Saffron Gazpacho, while entries include a mix of seafood favorites ”“ including Cod, Pan Seared Scallops and Fried Red Snapper ”“ and classics such Magret Duck Breast, Berkshire Pork Porterhouse and Crispy 50 Layers Lasagna. Desserts feature gluten-free chocolate mousse cake and locally-made sorbet.

“Cooking has become more than a passion of mine, but also a lifestyle, and to be able to share an extension of my work is always exciting,” said Pimenta, who previously held executive chef positions at multiple Massachusetts restaurants including Ambrosia on Huntington, Les Zygomates and Blue Ox Restaurant. “We have a brand new, eclectic menu for all different types of palates to impress each and every one of our guests.”
