Celebrated Bronx Jewish deli to open Ardsley location

A celebrated 70-year-old Jewish deli in the Bronx will be opening its first Westchester location later this year.

According to a report in the Riverdale Press, Liebman”™s Delicatessen is planning an expansion to Ardsley”™s Addyman Square in October. The Ardsley location is expected to initially have an abbreviated menu in order to help customers unfamiliar with its selection of deli specialties.

“We want to provide something more than just fill a void,” said store owner Yuval Dekel. “We want to be able to put the county on the map and say, ”˜Hey, this is a place where a really good Jewish deli exists and one that”™s survived seven decades in the Bronx and now we”™re going to kind of look to our north a bit and see if we can replicate that up there.”™”

Liebman”™s was founded in 1953 by Joe Liebman and was acquired in 1980 by Joseph Dekel, the current owner”™s father. Yuval Dekel wil not have to worry about commuting to the new deli ”“ the Ardsley location is five minutes from his home.
