Faulty air conditioning delays opening of Bridgeport’s newest eatery

Bridgeport”™s newest restaurant was forced to delay its grand opening due to a breakdown of its air conditioning system.

JB Vibes, a Jamaican-inspired restaurant and rum bar, was scheduled to open for business on Aug. 6 at 1020 Broad St. However, the JB Vibes management used the company’s Facebook page to announce that the establishment was not ready to meet the public.

“Regrettably, we will not open today August 6th as advertised,” said the Facebook message. “We are experiencing problems with our air conditioning system which we need to address, especially with the unexpected heat wave through Wednesday. We want to ensure our Vibes are right, so we will open as soon as this is resolved tentatively on August 9th.”

JB Vibes is located at the former site of Barnum Publick House, a popular downtown eatery that opened in a remodeled building across from the City Hall Annex in March 2012 but closed last summer.
