DeCicco & Sons to open in Millwood

Supermarket chain DeCicco & Sons will open a new store at 230 Saw Mill River Road in Millwood.

The grocer will take up residence in Millwood Plaza”™s former A&P location, which closed in November after its parent company, The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in July.

New Castle Supervisor Robert Greenstein said the renovations to the store will be extensive and that DeCicco & Sons aims to open an environmentally friendly shop.

“DeCicco”™s will be incredible for our community, incredible for Millwood and incredible for the Millwood Plaza,” he said in a message to residents.

The supermarket is expected to open by the end of the year.

The grocer, which has been in business since 1973, has locations in Ardsley, Armonk, Brewster, Harrison, Larchmont and Pelham.
