Danone Waters of America gains B Corp Certification

Danone Waters of America, the White Plains-based importer and distributor of the Evian, Badoit and Volvic brands of bottled water, has received B Corp Certification and is now a public benefit corporation (PBC).

According to Danone, companies seeking the certification must complete a B Impact Assessment and earn an audited minimum score of 80 out of 200 possible points from B Lab, the global nonprofit that certifies and supports B Corporations. Recertification is required every three years.

A PBC is a for-profit corporation intended to produce a public benefit and operate in a responsible and sustainable manner. Danone Waters of America is the 14th company within the Danone corporate family to receive B Corp Certification, which includes Danone North America, Happy Family Organics and Danone UK.

“We aim to use our B Corp Certification and status as a PBC to engage business partners, stakeholders and the consumers of our iconic brands like Evian around this important movement,” said Antoine Portmann, general manager at Danone Waters of America.
