Xerox expands services in Europe
Xerox Litigation Services, a division of Norwalk-based Xerox Corp., has opened its first two European offices in London and Telford, England.
Xerox Litigation Services provides electronic search and consulting services to help lawyers reduce risk and control costs. Through the new offices, it will provide processing, hosting, review management, production and support services to the U.K. market. Xerox said the expansion was spurred by growing demand from global clients.
The Telford location has two data centers hosting some 200 virtual servers with large-scale storage capacity. The London office will be where the client services team operates.
Shelton radiology unit gets $22KÂ grant
Shelton-based Robert D. Russo Associates Radiology has received a $22,000 grant from the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation.
The Texas-based cancer-prevention charity awarded the grant to the radiology operation”™s chief, Robert Russo, for his Project Success initiative. The project seeks to increase awareness of the importance of early detection of breast cancer and provide exams to those without insurance.
New school”™s green efforts gain note
The newly opened Discovery Magnet School in Bridgeport has been awarded a silver Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating.
This spring Stamford-based American Solar and Alternative Power equipped the newly constructed Bridgeport school with an integrated photovoltaic rooftop solar system designed to capture 85 percent of the sun”™s energy.
The school”™s initiative was also noticed by the producers of Cablevision TV channel MXenergyTV, who have recently made the school a feature of a new segment called “Attainable Sustainables.”
Norwalk family business gets $25K grant
Norwalk-based Sound Control Technologies was awarded a $25,000 grant through the Connecticut Small Business Innovation and Diversification Program.
Adolph Neaderland, chairman of the family owned company that makes control equipment for video cameras, said it will use the funds to expand its product line and bolster overseas sales.
The Connecticut Small Business Innovation and Diversification Program was established under former Gov. M. Jodi Rell to help small businesses develop, produce and commercialize new products in the state. The program is administered through the Small Business Innovation Research Office at Connecticut Innovations and funded by the Department of Economic and Community Development.
