Thomson bolsters tax ranks

Thomson Corp. is acquiring a Deloitte & Touche L.L.P. unit that provides property tax outsourcing and compliance services.

The companies did not reveal financial terms.

The Scottsdale, Ariz.-based unit adds 420 professionals to Thomson”™s tax and accounting division, which now numbers more than 3,600 people.

Thomson Tax & Accounting also has offices in New York City; Carrollton, Texas; Fort Worth, Texas; and Dexter, Mich. Thomson has its operational headquarters in Stamford; Deloitte and Touche is based in New York City.
