Stamford ”“ and by extension perhaps, Bridgeport ”“ won a spot on a list of “nine cities you wouldn’t think are hubs for tech startups” run by Entrepreneur Magazine.
Long Island City, N.Y. and Hoboken, N.J. joined Stamford on the list, with several other potential Northeast candidates left off, including New Haven, White Plains, N.Y., Providence, R.I., and Rochester, N.Y. among others.
Entrepreneur chose a photo of Bridgeport’s Steel Point peninsula to accompany its blurb on Stamford, which touted the Stamford Innovation Center and partnerships with area technology giants like Pitney Bowes Inc. and Sikorsky Aircraft Corp.
