Shuffle at Danbury Holiday Inn

The owners of the Holiday Inn on Danbury”™s east side have shifted management of the 114-room hotel to a sister business, New Generation Hospitality in Warren, N.J. “We come in and operate the hotel at the direction of the ownership,” said Bill Toole, vice president of sales and marketing at New Generation.

New Generation Hospitality is a hotel acquisition and management company and CEO Sujal Mehta is also separately part owner of the Danbury Holiday Inn under a different corporate name ”“ SMP Investment Corp. SMP purchased the 33-year-old Danbury Holiday Inn from the Meyer Jabara Hotels chain in 2004. The full-service hotel recently renovated all its guest rooms, and is about a half-mile from Interstate 84”™s exit 8.

SMP had managed the hotel by itself until the first of this month, when it signed an agreement with New Generation Hospitality”™s hotel management division to take over management operations, Toole said. The change will not affect the Holiday Inn brand affiliation, and all current staff has been retained.
