Shave and a haircut
Kennedy’s All-American Barber Club has added three franchise locations in Fairfield County.
The old-time styled barber shop franchise opened last fall in Ridgefield. Franchisees Jarrod Manfro and Richard Ashaikan are now opening outlets in Stamford, Darien and Westport.
The two Somers, N.Y.-residents and former Wall Street bankers said the locations have been such a success because they provide men with a place to bond and relax.
“There really is a gentleman”™s club mentality to the whole brand, it”™s very appropriate and works well in the form of an old-world barbershop,” Manfro said.
The Altamonte Springs, Fl., franchise was founded three years ago and grew quickly to more than 20 locations on the East Coast. The model offers traditional hot shaves in a parlor-style atmosphere. Locations are outfitted with billiard tables, lounges, televisions and computers, Manfro said.
Kennedy”™s barbershops operate on a membership basis; the Ridgefield location has 300 members.
The new shops will be located at 1075 High Ridge Road in Stamford, 275 Post Road East in Westport and 1089 Post Road in Darien. They will open their doors over the next two weeks.
“We hope to focus on Fairfield County and then put additional locations in Westchester and Nassau counties,” Manfro said. “The New York metro area has a strong population of professional men who would be interested in an atmosphere to relax with each other. Specialty barbershops and men”™s grooming services is a growth segment.”
Manfro and Ashaikan said they will be opening a location on Post Road in Greenwich this year.
