Sandy assistance deadline extended to Feb. 12
The deadline to register for Hurricane Sandy disaster relief  has been extended again from Jan. 28 to Feb. 12.
Business owners who sustained physical damage to their property may be eligible for up to $2 million in long-term, low-interest loans to replace damaged real estate, equipment, inventory or assets. The loans are backed by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
“Extending this deadline will ensure that any resident or business affected by Storm Sandy has ample time to apply for federal aid,” said Gov. Dannel P. Malloy in a press release. “We will continue with the recovery process until everyone”™s life is back to normal.”
A total of $37 million in federal disaster aid has been approved in Connecticut to date, including $26.4 million in SBA loans.
The deadline for business economic injury loans is July 31, 2013.
