Saks to spin off a shoe store in Greenwich

Saks Fifth Avenue plans to open its first stand-alone 10022-SHOE store in Greenwich next fall.

The shoe store, named after the department store’s shoe department, will be in a 14,000-square-foot space at 20 E. Elm St., around the corner from the existing Saks Fifth Avenue store in downtown Greenwich.

“Women”™s footwear is one of our marquee businesses and I”™m very excited to dedicate more space to this key category in one of our most important markets,” Marc Metrick, president of Saks Fifth Avenue, said in a statement.

Saks Fifth Avenue will expand the women”™s designer ready-to-wear, leather goods and fine jewelry assortment in the existing store. The store will add new designer apparel shops and a private fine jewelry viewing room on the upper level.

Saks Fifth Avenue’s Stamford store closed in Stamford Town Center last year and was replaced with a Saks Off 5th in June. Both stores are in Hudson’s Bay Co.’s brand portfolio.
