Representatives applaud Sandy aid

Connecticut’s U.S. Congress representatives applauded Feb. 6 the $71.8 million funding granted to Connecticut residents affected by Hurricane Sandy.

The grant is a part of a $16 billion Community Development Block Grant (CDGB) program, included in the Sandy Disaster Relief passed in January. The funding will help home and business owners upgrade and repair critical infrastructure.

“This money is critical to Connecticut”™s recovery from Hurricane Sandy,” delegates wrote in a statement. “From repairing and improving infrastructure to addressing coastal flood plain issues and helping homeowners and businesses rebuild, the state has a long list of targets that this funding may address.”
