Redniss & Mead acquires land surveying firm

Stamford-based Redniss & Mead Inc., a land-use consulting company, announced it has acquired Wilton land surveying firm Ryan and Faulds to expand its geographic reach.

Ryan and Faulds will continue to work in its Wilton office under the name Ryan and Faulds, A Redniss & Mead Company. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Together the two firms will serve Fairfield, New Haven and Westchester counties.

“The combination of the two firms fits with our plans for growth,” Craig J. Flaherty, principal at Redniss & Mead, said in a statement. “Current and future clients now have the option to work with a single source for their engineering, planning and zoning, permitting and surveying needs.”

Lawrence W. Posson, director of surveying at Redniss & Mead, said the acquisition of Ryan and Faulds was a natural move.

“We have always admired the quality of their work and their attention to detail in the surveying services and mapping they deliver,” Posson said in a statement. “They, like us, pride themselves in their responsiveness to clients’ needs and local knowledge.”

Ryan and Faulds was founded in 1961 by the late Richard M. Ryan and Russell G. Faulds. Over the years they have expanded by acquiring the S.W. Hoyt Jr. Co. Inc. and with it, the associated survey records of several companies previously acquired by Hoyt.

“By joining forces with Redniss & Mead we can easily coordinate complimentary services while still continuing our company”™s rich tradition of strong client service,” Douglas Faulds, owner of Ryan and Faulds, said in a statement.  “We are excited about moving forward together.”
