Cartus Corporation in Danbury has expanded its Web-based e-procurement platform, called Acadia, to include support of temporary housing for relocating employees.
“In today’s economy, the need for effective temporary housing solutions is more important than ever,” said John Arcario, executive vice president of Cartus.
Cartus, a provider of global mobility management and work force development solutions, has expanded its ”˜e-procurement”™ model to include competitive bidding for temporary housing to give customers multiple rental options.
According to Arcario, the model allows suppliers of temporary housing to bid competitively for Cartus customers’ business.
“Companies are finding that temporary housing stays are frequently being extended, which increases the costs of a move,” said Arcario. “Meanwhile, employees want a wider range of housing options. The Acadia platform delivers on both fronts, with reduced costs for clients and higher satisfaction rates from their transferees.”
Arcario said Acadia for temp housing has shown savings that average more than 5 percent of typical temporary housing costs.
