Nestle to donate 5.4 million bottles of water
Nestle plans to donate more than 5.4 million bottles of water to New York and New Jersey communities impacted by Hurricane Sandy, with shipments scheduled to arrive from plants as far as Texas and Michigan.
Nestle Waters North America, based in Stamford, said the shipments would be delivered Nov. 3 to Nov. 6 in response to a request from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the New York state Office of Emergency Management.
The bottled water donations have primarily been distributed thus far through AmeriCares, based in Stamford, and the American Red Cross.
