Mari Iturbe-Ortiz, M.D., named new pediatrician at Family Health Center

Saint Joseph’s Medical Center has announced the appointment of Mari Iturbe-Ortiz, M.D., MPH, FAAP, as the new pediatrician at its Thomas and Agnes Carvel Foundation Family Health Center in Yonkers.

Iturbe-Ortiz brings extensive experience to addressing health disparities. She earned her medical degree from the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in Caguas, Puerto Rico, and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Puerto Rico Pediatric Hospital. Following her training, she practiced as a general pediatrician in Connecticut.

In addition to providing pediatric care at the Family Health Center, Iturbe-Ortiz will be the collaborating physician for Saint Joseph’s School Based Health Programs in Yonkers, which include  Martin Luther King Jr. Academy, Eugenio Maria de Hostos Microsociety, Rosemarie Ann Siragusa School, Cesar Chavez School and the new Justice Sonia Sotomayor Community School.

Since 1888, Saint Joseph’s Medical Center has served Yonkers and surrounding communities with inpatient and outpatient care, including specialized programs such  as orthopedicscardiologyfamily medicine and geriatrics; advanced emergency treatment; state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and ambulatory surgery; inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services; and a network of primary care services for Westchester County, the Bronx and Manhattan.
