Paul Lerman, who joined the University of Bridgeport in the fall as senior administrative advisor in the office of the provost, was appointed recently interim dean of the University of Bridgeport Business School.
Lerman succeeds Merrill J. Forgotson, who became a member of the school”™s board of trustees and vice chairman of the board”™s development committee.
Most recently, Lerman served six years as executive vice president and provost of Metropolitan College of New York.
Lerman also served on the teaching staff at the Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Business in New Jersey for 30 years, the final 10 as the dean of the business school. During this time, he guided the business school to preliminary accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business: International.
Lerman holds a Master of Science degree in biomechanical engineering, a bachelor”™s degree in economics and mathematics, a master”™s degree in mechanical engineering, and a Ph.D. in operations research with specialization in economic systems analysis, all from New York University.
He has given seminars to such major corporations as AT&T, Citicorp, General Foods and IBM in the areas of finance, accounting and decision support.
He has served on the board of directors of publicly held corporations and the New Jersey Trade Development Corporation and been a consultant to the Office of Technology Assessment of the United States Congress.
Lerman currently facilitates management simulations at corporations throughout the United States and consults in the field of e-learning on the research, development and delivery of computerized management development.
