JLL and Vineyard Vines collaborate on four-floor store
Global commercial real estate and investment company JLL, with its Westchester-Connecticut office in Stamford, has completed the renovation of a new headquarters facility for clothing retailer Vineyard Vines at 181 Harbor Drive at Shippan Landing in Stamford.
The store is up and running with JLL touting its four distinct floors as a collaboration between the company and the owners”™ vision and finite budget.
The JLL Project and Development Services group overhauled the entire class-A, 91,040-square-foot office building for Vineyard Vines.
The effort was overseen by JLL”™s Lawrence Root, vice president, along with Don Bucci, managing director; Peter Palmisano, senior vice president, and Stephen Gross, associate project manager. They worked with Vineyard Vines”™ Michael Gaumer, president; Jory Benerofe, vice president; and Patrick O”™Keefe, manager of finance.
“Vineyard vines wanted its new corporate headquarters to reflect the image of the company and the background of its founders,” Bucci said. “Company executives envisioned a space that would attract talented designers from New York, a building that was a lot of fun and offered great amenities. JLL worked very closely with the company and the architect to create the right look and ambience for Vineyard Vines”™ new headquarters.”
JLL”™s Project and Development Services group was tapped by Vineyard Vines approximately one year ago to serve as project manager for the effort.
The Project and Development Services group was tasked with overseeing the design and construction of the new space. JLL also assisted with narrowing down design options on the architectural level to match Vineyard Vines”™ needs and budget.
The building”™s design was conceptualized primarily by the company”™s founders Shep and Ian Murray and their team. The first floor features a sailing motif, with the lobby including a reception desk that was designed to look like the stern of a motor yacht. Each floor pays homage to some of the founders”™ favorite locations. The second floor has a tiki bar-themed lounge to summon the look and feel of the Florida Keys. The third floor”™s inspiration was the Bahamas and the fourth floor recreates the ambiance of summer at Martha”™s Vineyard.
Other companies involved in the project include CPG Architects and general contractor Pavarini North East Construction Co. Inc.
In 2014, JLL”™s New York tri-state team completed approximately 22.8 million square feet of lease transactions, arranged investment sales transactions valued at more than $5.4 billion, managed projects valued at $7.6 billion and oversaw a property management, facilities management and agency leasing portfolio exceeding 163 million square feet.
