Get ready to eat

The Connecticut Restaurant Association scheduled its annual CT Restaurant Week for Oct. 10-16.

Participating eateries can craft their own specials for the price of $20.11, possibly to include a prix-fixe, three-course dinner, a two-for-one deal or a bottle of wine. Restaurants that sign on by Oct. 1 will be featured in Connecticut Restaurant Association”™s marketing for the event.

 

Bartaco opens

The owners of Norwalk-based Barcelona opened a second Bartaco location, this one in Stamford at 222 Summer St.

Designed to evoke a beachside eatery, Bartaco serves a range of seafood and meat tacos, as well other Caribbean and Mexican-inspired dishes and margaritas.

Bartaco also has a location in Port Chester, N.Y.

 

Bridgeport eateries to open

Bare, Tapas & Vino leased just more than 1,500 square feet of space in Bridgeport at 277 Fairfield Ave., with tapas and outdoor seating on tap for its opening in late September.

Opening nearby at 274 Fairfield Ave. is Bagel King, which also will have an outdoor patio and will offer catering to area businesses. Both deals were brokered by HK Group.

 

Franchisor marks 10th anniversary

Edible Arrangements marked the 10th anniversary of the first franchise location for its stores catering fresh-fruit arrangements.

Since opening that store in Waltham, Mass., Edible Arrangements has grown to nearly 1,100 locations in a dozen countries, including a half-dozen in Fairfield County. This past May, the Wallingford-based company said it would open 150 new sites this year and 200 next.

With Milford-based Subway, Edible Arrangements was one of just two Connecticut franchisors to be included on a list of the top 50 in the world as ranked this year by Entrepreneur magazine.
