GE Capital invests $2.7 billion in media

Officials of Norwalk-based GE Capital recently announced they had invested $2.7 billion in telecom, media and technology during the first half of 2013.

A global financing group, GE Capital has a long history of financing key growth sectors in media technologies, including cable, data centers, towers, metro fiber, TV, radio, digital media and software.

One of the largest investments so far this year is a $405 million credit facility for Entravision, a Spanish-language media company, headquartered in Santa Monica, Calif.

Additionally the group provided $45 million in financing for Tech Valley Communications in Albany to acquire a Vermont fiber network and $160 million to Greater Media in Massachusetts to expand its national radio station network.
