FreshDirect’s radius expands to Stamford
Continuing its extension into Fairfield County, the online grocer FreshDirect has reached past Greenwich in its initial push and added Stamford to the growing roster of communities able to receive home delivery service.
“We are very pleased with the enthusiastic response we’ve received from our recent launch in the Greenwich market and expansion in Westchester County,” said Rick Braddock, CEO of FreshDirect, base in Long Island City, N.Y. “We intend to build on that momentum with our arrival now in Stamford,”
Stamford is the first Connecticut city to receive FreshDirect.
The service has been available for a few months in the areas of Greenwich, Old Greenwich, Cos Cob and Riverside.
The company has doubled its presence in neighboring Westchester County, N.Y., where it now serves 21 communities.
The expansion into Westchester was paired with that of the push into the Greenwich area.
“Stamford is one of the tri-state’s most dynamic cities with a vibrant and growing residential and corporate sales population,” said Braddock. “We are excited to be able to offer our Stamford consumers the freshest food direct from the farm, delivered to our customers’ homes at everyday low prices.”
The company said it embraces the latest standards for fresh food supply, quality, product customization and value pricing.
