Â
Connecticut”™s two senators recommended Nora Dannehy, a state senator and two lawyers with experience as prosecutors to become U.S. Attorney for the state of Connecticut, with Dannehy having held the post on an acting basis since last year when Kevin O”™Connor left for a senior position at the U.S. Department of Justice.
Dannehy became the first woman in the history of Connecticut to hold the position on an acting or permanent basis. In addition to her role in Connecticut, Dannehy is currently in charge of investigating allegations of wrongdoing in the firing of nine U.S. Attorneys during the Bush administration.
U.S. Sens. Chris Dodd and Joe Lieberman also forwarded three other nominees for the Obama administration to consider, including William Tong, a state senator from Stamford who is an associate in the law firm Finn Dixon & Herling L.L.P.; David Fein, a partner in the Stamford office of Wiggin & Dana L.L.P.; and Edgardo Ramos, a partner assigned to the New York City office of Day Pitney L.L.P.
